Regional Characteristics
Hampyeong-gun is situated in the northwestern part of the west coast of Jeollanam-do Province, which is located on the southwestern tip of the Korean peninsula. It is not only a natural habitat for the golden bat, a species of bat that is rare throughout the entire world, but also the venue of the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival that is hosted with eco-friendly policies.
