Regional Characteristics
Hadong-gun is located in the southern end of the Korean peninsula and in the westernmost part of Gyeongsangnam-do Province, with Jirisan Mountain in the north and Namhae (South Sea) and the Hallyeohaesang National Park in the south. The area borders Gwangyangsa Temple and Gurye-gun in Jeollanam-do Province by the Seomjingang River and Namwonsa Temple in Jeollabuk-do Province, Sancheong-gun and Hamyang-gun, and Jinju and Sacheon in Gyeongsangnam-do Province by Jirisan Mounatin. Also, it is adjacent to Namhae-gun with Namhae (South Sea) in the middle.
